Charterhouse Club has an amazing climbing wall,
catering for all levels of ability from experienced climbers to
Club members wishing to try something new. This
advanced facility offers the challenges of funnels, chimneys,
flakes, cracks and unique movable overhangs and slabs,
combining to create one of the most technically demanding
and versatile indoor walls ever designed.
Instruction is available from qualified instructors on
either a one to one basis or in groups. The Junior Climbing
Club is fully supervised. Indoor climbing is also an excellent way to maintain and
improve your general fitness as part of your regular exercise
programme and is ideal for developing all round strength
and stamina whilst improving flexibility. Incorporating a
regular climbing session into your weekly programme can
not only help you physically but will also help to eliminate
the monotony of your regular work-out.
These one-day courses are obligatory for children aged 8+
wishing to attend the Junior Climbing sessions. Courses are
run on Saturdays and are held throughout the year.
Junior Climbing Club takes place on Monday evenings and
Saturday mornings.
Monday evening sessions are for children aged 8 plus
who have completed the Junior Basic Climbing Course and
offer Recreational, Intermediate and Advanced Sessions
(Advanced is for children aged 14 plus).
As they continue to attending the Climbing Club they can then work towards their Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards which will teach them new skills and set them up toward becoming a confident and competent climber. An hourly fee is payable.
Saturday mornings offer a Recreational session for those
aged eight and over who have attended the Basic Climbing
Course, we also offer sessions for children aged 5 to 7 (and those
who have not attended the Basic Climbing Course) additional supervision is provided during those sessions and numbers are restricted to take the childrens age into account.
A fee is payable for all the above climbing activities.
