Boys' First XI
The 1st XI has gone from strength to strength this season, recording excellent wins over Westminster, RGS Guildford, and Reed’s.
In the Westminster fixture, Benji (Remove – Year 10) claimed his first five‑wicket haul, helping to bowl out the opposition.
The last two victories have been dominated by Oli (Second Year Specialist – Year 13), whose outstanding innings of 117* and 137 led two superb run chases. He now sits on 458 runs at an average of 91 for the season — an exceptional return at this stage of the campaign.
Girls' First XI
The Girls’ 1st XI played out a thrilling contest against St John’s Leatherhead, narrowly losing by four wickets after the winning boundary was struck from the penultimate ball of the match.
In the Cup quarter‑final against Gordon’s, the team delivered a composed chase of 75 in 12 overs to secure a place in the U18 Surrey Cup semi‑final.
India (Remove – Year 10) was the standout performer, taking 4–14 and earning her place on the girls’ honours board.
Boys' U15 & U14
Both the U15 and U14 teams were knocked out of their respective Cups by Epsom and St Paul’s, but there were several standout individual performances across the two age groups.
There were excellent bowling displays along the way, including 5–8 from Billy (Remove – Year 10) against Cranleigh and 4–8 from Charlie (Fourth – Year 9), also against Cranleigh.
Behind the stumps, Charles (Fourth – Year 9) continues to impress, with his tally of stumpings rising to an outstanding 10 for the season.
Tennis
Senior Girls
The Senior Girls’ tennis teams have made an excellent start to CQ (Cricket Quarter – Summer Term), with fixtures already played against Epsom, St Mary’s Ascot, and Guildford High School. Many of the teams have recorded strong wins, showcasing some impressive performances.
Looking ahead, two of our senior girls will represent the School in Round 2 of the ISL team, followed by a full block against Wellington and the ISGTL competition next Saturday at Bradfield.
U14A Girls
The U14A girls have enjoyed a terrific start to the season, going unbeaten in their first four matches. Across the year group, participation has been outstanding, with up to five girls’ teams competing each week — a clear sign of the enthusiasm and commitment within the squad.
Special mentions go to Lucy and Karissa (Fourths – Year 9), who have earned places in the ISL team, competing at a high level.
Athletics
It has been a busy and promising start to the Athletics season, helped by excellent weather that has contributed to some excellent performances across the squads.
The opening weekend saw Charterhouse host a five‑school fixture. The boys finished the day as winners, while the girls were narrowly beaten into second place by Brighton College. The team then travelled to Crawley, where the boys placed second to Epsom, again finishing ahead of Brighton College, Wellington, Cranleigh, and Sevenoaks. The girls finished third.
The Removes (Year 10) and Fourths (Year 9) have also been active, competing at Claremont against RGS and Tormead, and securing a home win against Gordon’s and St Edmund’s.
Last weekend, the team travelled to Sevenoaks, where the Inter boys and Senior girls both finished second — to Sevenoaks and ASL respectively — with the overall team placing third.
Several school records have already fallen this season.
- Amelia (Fourth – Year 9) set new records in both the hurdles and the shot put.
- Immy (Removes – Year 10) broke the school record in the 800m.
- Hebe (First Year Specialist – Year 11) set a new record in the discus.
It has been an excellent start, with strong team results and record‑breaking individual performances signalling a very exciting season ahead.
The Loop Challenge
This year’s Loop Challenge saw 525 participants complete an incredible 1,222 loops — including 120 half‑marathon runners — covering a total of 5,132km and surpassing last year’s £20,000 fundraising target for Oasis. With coloured T‑shirts, an electric atmosphere, and pupils and staff cheering each other on, the event brought the whole School together in support of a charity making a real difference to vulnerable children and families.
